WFN FATHER’S DAY MARATHON

NEW WFN LogoWorld Fishing Network, the leading entertainment destination and digital resource for anglers throughout North America, presents its Father’s Day Marathon, Sponsored by Cabela’s – four hours of shows all focused on fathers that fish. The Father’s Day Marathon, Sponsored by Cabela’s airs Sunday, June 15 starting at 8 p.m. ET and celebrates that special bond between a father and son/daughter with eight of World Fishing Network’s favorite dad-centric episodes that include both freshwater and saltwater fishing. The marathon opens as James Lindner, host of Ultimate Fishing Experience , and his son, Nick, head off to explore small rivers in search of catfish, followed by Colin McKeown, producer and host of The New Fly Fisher, and his son, Corey, joining the owner of the Riverkeep Lodge, Steve Murray, and his son, Stephen Jr., as they pursue brook trout, landlocked salmon, northern pike and lake trout in the waters of Labrador.

Then, Reel Fishy Jobs ventures to Lake Fork, Texas where host Mark Melnyk meets up with the top carp and buffalo angler in the U.S., British expatriate Richard Somerville. Mark’s friend, Wes Moon, and Wes’ father, Bryan Moon, arrive from Canada to join in the excitement as the group lands some incredible catches before World Fishing Network’s own traveler, explorer and adventure junkie, Mariko Izumi, is joined by her father, Wayne Izumi, as they go landlocked salmon fishing on Lake Ontario in this episode of Hookin’ Up with Mariko Izumi.

The marathon reaches its midway point as Captain Jeff Brown from Copout Outdoor Adventures recognizes the good deeds of others by taking Mark and Kathi Delay to the waters of The Bahamas. Mark, a U.S. Navy combat medic and Purple Heart recipient, was the winner of last year’s World Fishing Network Fish & Film Contest, which was produced in partnership with Copout Outdoor Adventures. Mark was selected out of 585 entrants, and when you hear his story and see the heartfelt thank you from his daughter at the end of the episode, you’ll know why.

Later, Mike D. leaves the friendly confines of New York City behind in this father-focused episode of Lunkerville , traveling to Old Kissimmee River, Fla. to enjoy a day on the water with nine-year-old Louie Echols, who has an infectious passion for bassin’, and Louie’s grandfather, Dan Echols, before another episode of The New Fly Fisher finds Colin and Corey fishing for walleye and smallmouth bass from Hawk Lake Lodge in Ontario, Canada.

Stay with us as an encore presentation of Ultimate Fishing Experience bookends the Father’s Day Marathon, Sponsored by Cabela’s in true family fashion as James Lindner takes the whole family out for a day of fun the water, finding time for a little bass fishing along the way.
