Midwest Crappie Heating Up

Crappie season is about ready to get going full swing in the Midwest. With that I’ve found something that should be a real “killer” made by Natural Forage Baits called a T-Shad. The photo shows my favorite color. I would suggest rigging these on a small BFishn Tackle Precision H20 head, or Road Runner. They have Kick’n Bass Fish Attractants already in them.

The other lure is called a Drop Shad. This should work well for catching bigger crappie as well as finessing on bass. Again, I will use the Precision H20 and Road Runner heads, but also a Blitz Lures LLC Spyder Finesse Jig.

Finger jigging will be my primary technique for both the T-Shad and Drop Shad. I have a feeling that the Drop Shad will now out perform the Lil Killer for finger jigging since it has the skinny tail for more “flipping” action.

The T-Shad will also be used for vertical jigging from the boat, or floating under a Mr. Crappie weighted or rattling float.

Until next time, get out on the water, and have a great day of fishing.
