Hobie Bass Open Series Has Been Announced

The inaugural season of the Hobie Bass Open Series aims to provide a simplified ‘open- to- anyone’ format and an elite feel for kayak anglers across the country. This series is all about providing a platform for the anglers. With greater participation in each event payouts will grow, The TOC will grow and opportunities for the anglers will only increase. Coverage of the events will set a standard and continue to solidify our sport’s legitimacy in the competitive fishing world to a broader audience. Below are all the details and events for the 2019 season. Are you ready to be a BOS Angler?


 


Opens (6):s

  • $200 Entry with a 200 Angler Cap, 2 Day event. $35 from each entry goes to build the TOC pot.
  • Winner of each Open earns their spot on team North America for the Hobie Fishing Worlds 9.
  • Top 6 anglers of each Open earn a spot in the 50 angler Tournament of Champions.
  • 100% of all entry fees gets paid back out to the anglers throughout the season, and the top 10% of the field will be paid out at each event.
  • Alternate spots for anglers declining their invitation will only be distributed within the Top 10 or Top 10% of field, whichever is larger.

Satellites (11):

  • $100 Entry with a 100 Angler Cap, 1- Day event. $1000 flat rate from each Satellite goes to build the TOC Pot.
  • Winner of each Satellite earns a PAID entry to the Tournament of Champions.
  • Alternate spots for anglers declining their invitation will only be distributed within the Top 10. The paid entry will go to the angler that accepts their invitation.
  • Satellites will payout 10% of the field with all remaining funds less $1000 for TOC, $200 for winners entry and Administrative/ PayPal Fees.

The Shootout (1):

  • $125 Entry with a 125 Angler Cap, 1- Day event. $25 from each entry goes to build TOC pot.
  • At least, the Top 3 finishing non- qualified anglers will fill in the final spots for the TOC field.
  • The Shootout will be held the day before the TOC at the same venue.
    Anglers already qualified for TOC are allowed to participate for prize money only.
  • The Shootout will payout 10% of the field with all remaining funds, less the $25 per entry that goes to TOC and Administrative/ Paypal Fees.
  • If there are more than 3 qualification spots available at the end of the season, they will be announced weeks in advance.

The Tournament of Champions (TOC):

  • $200 entry for qualified anglers. 50 angler max. All money paid into TOC pot throughout the season will be paid out at this event.
  • The winner or top placing non-qualified angler will earn the final spot on the North American Team for Hobie Fishing Worlds 9.
  • The TOC will payout a minimum of 20% of the field at 100% payout.
  • The TOC will provide a true elite- level kayak championship for the anglers and family and friends are encouraged to come and support.
