More Heroes on the Water News: New GreatNonprofits.org Award is Based on Positive Online Reviews. Allen, TX, November 6, 2013 – Heroes on the Water announced today that it has been honored with a prestigious 2013 Top-Rated Award by GreatNonprofits, the leading provider of user reviews about nonprofit organizations.

“We are excited to be named a Top-Rated 2013 Nonprofit,” says Bob Pikna, Executive Director, Heroes on the Water. The Top-Rated Nonprofit award was based on the large number of positive reviews that Heroes on the Water received – reviews written by volunteers, donors and clients. People posted their personal experience with the nonprofit. For example, one person wrote…

“While serving in the US Air Force my son Charles “Chuck” was paralyzed from the waist down. He lost the ability to do the things he loved to do such as fishing, boating and golf. He has always had a positive attitude and copes with his disability. When he discovered Heroes on the Water his whole life began to change. This organization has helped him do the things he loves to do. It gets him out on weekends, has fun and has discovered a new group of great people. Thanks to all volunteers and donors.”

While the Top-Rated Awards run through the end of October, Heroes on the Water was part of the inaugural group to qualify for the year.

“Savvy donors want to see the impact of their donations more than ever,” said Perla Ni, CEO of GreatNonprofits, “People with direct experience with Heroes on the Water have voted that the organization is making a real difference.”

Being on the Top-Rated list gives donors and volunteers more confidence that this is a credible organization. The reviews by volunteers, clients and other donors show the on-the-ground results of this nonprofit. This award is a form of recognition by the community. To read reviews visit www.greatnonprofits.org.
