Fishing was a little different today

Fishing was a little different todayI ended up using a variety of lures, with the Natural Forage Baits Swim Bait ending up to be “king for the day”.

The water was murky, so I started with a Rat-L-Trap to catch my first three bass. Then things slowed a bit, so I decided to go to a black/blue Blitz Lures LLC Finesse Jig with a June Bug NFB R4 Finesse Worm as the trailer. That caught 6 more bass before things started slowing again.

After changing locations I decided to try a swim bait on a Blakemore Casey’s Runner Head, but it had to be fished in weeds near the bottom, which made it impossible for the blade to do its job. As a result, I pulled out my favorite plain jig head, a BFishn Tackle H20 Precision in the 5/16 ounce size and threaded on a 4″ NFB Green Shad Swim Bait with Kick’n Bass Fish Attractants. The action started immediately with a 19″ bass, afterwhich there were 8 more, plus a nice crappie, and several other bass that threw the lure.

The Natural Forage Baits Green Shad has caught about 98% of the bass for which I’ve used swimbaits, so as a result I’m just about out. Same goes with some of my BFishn Tackle jig heads. So, it may be time to replenish my supplies before the big fall feed takes off. Of course at that time the Blitz Lures LLC Blade will be turning on big time, and keep going right into the cold water before for freeze-up.

All in all, today was a great day on the water. I think Pepper had a good time as well.

Until next time, get out on the water, and enjoy a great day of fishing.
