A Little Gun Rap From Dan – Part 12

A Little Gun Rap From Dan – Part 12This afternoon a package arrived from another order that I had with some sale items from Sportsman’s Guide. This time I had a couple of Catch 22 ammo storage units and 2 Do-All Outdoors Stop Sign targets. There was also another target, but retailer didn’t list all the information about the calibers to use, and they were all higher than for what it was purchased. So, that is going back.

The Catch 22 storage boxes can handle 50 rounds of 22LR ammo each, which makes it easy to carry and load, especially with tube magazines like with my Henry Repeating Arms rifles. There are ten small chambers, with 5 rounds each. So, if loading a Mare’s Leg, which has a 10 round tube magazine, it would be simple to dump two chambers of 5 rounds each into the tube. With two I can carry a 100 spare rounds, which is made easier than packing it in a range bag by having the belt clip. I wish that I had purchased a few more of these at the sale price of around $9.

As for the Stop Sign self-healing targets, I plan on using the back smooth side for attaching paper or Shoot-N-C targets. As the bullet passes through the material it seals the hole behind it. I have some of these in a bowling pin and Knockout Disc, and have seen the way it works. It don’t completely heal, but does a pretty good job. I mainly shoot 22 LR, but have fired some 380 and 38 special at them, and they are still going strong.

You will be hearing and seeing more about these products as time goes by.

Until next time, shoot safe and have a great day of plinking.
