YSSA Update

Youth Shooting Sports AllianceThe online Directory of Youth Shooting Sports Programs, developed by the Youth Shooting Sports Alliance (YSSA) in partnership with the Mule Deer Foundation (MDF), has exceeded 1,000 entries. The online Directory is housed within the YSSA website www.youthshootingsa.com. “Parents searching for information on youth shooting sports programs in their communities have found this Directory to be quite a valuable resource.” said Steve Miller, Executive Director of YSSA. “The Directory includes many local shooting sports programs not currently contained in any existing compilation online.”

The Directory is county based which is consistent with the respective service areas of notable youth organizations such as Boy Scouts of America and 4-H. Voluntary entry of a program in the Directory is easy. A youth program leader simply clicks “Submit a New Program” on the right side of the Directory banner. Basic program and contact information is requested for prospective youth shooters and their parents to review. Program leaders can specify the shooting sports disciplines and activities offered in their program. A second contact information block is provided for use by YSSA to verify the content to be displayed before it is approved for posting.

Program leaders are requested to specify the appropriate county for their program location in the drop-down menu provided. Independent cities are also identified in those states having such jurisdictions.

The program leader then clicks “Submit” and the program is listed in the Directory after review by YSSA.

The Youth Shooting Sports Alliance is a 501 (c)(3) private foundation whose mission is to identify and support the needs of successful and safe youth programs. Youth groups and industry members interested in learning more about the Youth Shooting Sports Alliance are encouraged to visit their website at www.youthshootingsa.com.
