What I Liked About 2013

Fish Lake Guntersville Guide ServiceAfter such an impressive 2013 with every phase of my life being affected in such a positive way I thought I would put my thoughts on paper; so many great improvements to talk about. A year where anything and everything mattered and changed for the best, I thought it was a good time to tell you what I liked!

I liked the fact that Lew’s Reels came out with a newly designed reel that will hold nearly a hundred yards of thick braid, their deep spool low profile reel is great to fish with an Alabama rig and use like 80 lb test braided line.

I liked that the SPRO frog only tournament here on Guntersville had nearly 240 boats in it setting a precedent for years to come. The gifts and participation by sponsors and fishermen will be etched into the lakes history for ever. I am really disappointed that it will move from Scottsboro to Guntersville in 2014.

I like that Lowrance has come out with a touch screen chart plotter, GPS depth finder that allows you to customize the screen to your liking, putting the visuals in a more easy to read set-up. The touch screen is now available in screens sizes up to 12 inches.

I like that I had a customer last February have a 3 fish stringer with a combined weight of about 34 lbs. He had caught all three fish within 20 ft. of each other, a memory that will last forever for him and me. With a 12.5 lb. bass being the largest bass of the 3 fish caught that day.

I like the fact that I had nearly 30 bass caught this year over 8 lbs. in 2013. Combine my customer catches with what Guntersville gave up this past year and you have a bonanza of big fish caught on Guntersville in 2013.

Lastly I like that Auburn is back on top of the SEC beating Alabama and competing for a National Championship. It just doesn’t get any better than this!
