Weekend Surge Propels Christie To Win

Bass Rankings LogoFive pounds down after Day 1. Six pounds down after Day 2. No big deal for Jason Christie. Heading into Day 3 of the Elite Series event on Lake Dardanelle, Christie was sitting in 10th and hardly on anyone’s radar for the win. In fact, the biggest story outside of Greg Hackney leading was Mark Davis’ streak of top fives coming to an end. Then Christie refined his swim-jig pattern, jumping to fourth after Saturday. Finally, he cracked another big limit on Sunday to claim the win by 4 ounces.  As for what the win did for his ranking, as of right now it’s not much. He only climbed to 24th, but on Tuesday a 2012 FLW Tour event drops off, along with his 125th finish. So watch for him to make a sizable jump later this week.
