Two Days On The Water With Dan

Two Days On The Water With Dan

March 28 at 8:42pm – Pepper and I went fishing today in the cold and damp, but did fairly well.

The top lure was a Blitz Lures LLC Spotted Goby Blade fished with a slow drop and lift, allowing it to go all the way to the bottom. The next best was the Natural Forage Baits Green Shad Swim Bait, rigged on a BFishn Tackle Precision H20 jig head. The final producer was a black/blue Blitz Spyder jig with a June Bug NFB Mad Craw. Of course all had Kick’n Bass Fish Attractants applied.

Retrieves were all slow with a swimming/drop and lift, such as mentioned for the Blade.

The important part was to find deeper cover, or areas with new weed growth. If both were found that was the best location. Just make sure to stay in contact with whatever was there to hold fish.

Until next time, get out on the water, and enjoy a great day of fishing.

March 21 at 9:03pm – Fishing today was cold and windy. The Yukon XL’s display said “Possible Ice On Roads”, so you know it was cold.

The only ice felt like it was on my hands with the wind chill coming out of the north. It made the very short trip feel longer, and even Pepper was ready to get back to the vehicle.

As for the actual fishing it was tough. The only fish hit a black/blue Blitz Lures LLC Spyder Jig with June Bug Natural Forage Baits Mad Craw, and a green shad NFB Swim Bait rigged on a 3/16 oz BFishn Tackle H20 Precision Jig Head. I had three hits, all of which resulted in a hooked fish. It wasn’t a day to miss strikes.

Water temperature is around 41°, so the Blitz Blades should have been working. Even the Rat-L-Traps didn’t have a sniff.

Until next time, get out on the water, and have a great day of fishing.
