On March 18th, surf fishermen and distance casters alike are invited to Johnson Park in Piscataway, NJ to the first “Throw-Down in the Park.” This Friday morning the team from Truth Reels and Century Rods will be in the park demonstrating rods and reels.
Specifically we will be demonstrating the dynamic Truth Reels SM (star mag). We want to show fisherman just how far you can cast this modern and unique conventional reel, when paired up with the advanced technology found in a Century Rod.

The official “Throw-Down” rules:
Pick any Century Rod off the rack (and we will have the full line up there) pair it up with a stock Truth SM pre-spooled with 275 yards of 20# mono and dump it to the arbor knot and you will go home with the combo – 100% Free and 100% made in the USA!
Bring your own fishing rod (not a specialized tournament casting rod) and dump the reel to the knot and you will go home with the reel.
We are really confident in our products and we want anglers and conventional casters to see and get the experience of what these products can do.
Even if you just want to learn to cast further, we really encourage you to come on out and cast. Bring your own rod. Master Class Caster and instructor Ryan White will be on hand to give pointers and lessons.
Century Rods will have all of their “old favorites” to try along with brand new Fly Fishing Rods, Carp Rods and new rods in the Surf series including the Kevlar Noreaster, Surf Machine and others.
