Team Benelli Gets A Win

BenelliTeam Benelli 3-Gunners shined at the 2014 FNH USA 3-Gun Nation Pro Series Tour opener in Owasso, OK, presented by Federal Premium Ammunition. Opening day at the first event provided plenty of challenges-four disqualifications and a 47-minute rain delay tested shooter’s focus and resolve. But in the end, nothing dampened the spirits and competition resumed. Shooting skills exhibited were nothing less than impressive.

In the Women’s Division, Team Benelli’s Dianna Liedorff finished a solid second and Janna Reeves came in fifth. In the Men’s Division, Benelli’s Keith Garcia took third and Taran Butler finished ninth.

The top 10 pros in the Men’s Division qualified for the finale “shoot-off” stage-a new format for 2014, where each shooter has one run to claim a top prize of $5,000. Benelli’s Taran Butler (35.26) and Keith Garcia (36.13), both ran the Pro Series gauntlet with excellent scores, but not enough to topple Jesse Tischauser (32.74) from the leaderboard.

“I’m really excited about the 2014 season and literally shooting all new guns,” Dianna said, “I feel good about my performance at the first 3-Gun Nation Pro Tour match. My Benelli M2 points like a dream; it’s light and I can mount it quickly and shoot on the move with ease. That’s imperative for Pro Tour performance.”

In all, 51 Men Pro Series and 12 Lady Pro Series competitors battled through five stages of competition for series points, cash and prizes. Recently qualified shooters mixed with top veterans, including some of the best shooters in the world. This year 16 rookie qualifiers in the Men’s Division joined ranks with 35 other competitors to match wit, speed and accuracy for a top payoff of $5,000 and a prize table bounty.
