Out Fishing With A Little Bit More Luck

Out Fishing With A Little Bit More LuckDon Banning and Pepper were fishing with me today. Last time at this lake Don was zeroed out, but this time he was able to catch a nice 17 inch bass. My results was a bit better – 11 bass.

The first fish of the day was an 18-inch bass caught on a black/blue Blitz Lures LLC Spyder Jig with matching Natural Forage Baits Mad Craw and a dose of Kick’n Bass Fish Attractants Java scent. A few casts later and a 16-inch bass was landed.

Even with this jig combination performing its magic again, it was the 1/2 oz. Rat-L-Trap in the Yellow Perch color that won top honors by catching 8 of the 11.

Don’s bass was caught on a “safety spin” type lure with a swim bait body.

The wind was blowing up to 30 mph, which made fishing a challenge, but also helped by creating wind lines off of the ends of points, and shore that had waves slapping into them and stirring up bait to turn fish on. There were also a few on deep weed beds.

Until next time, get out on the water, and enjoy a great day of fishing.
