NRA - ILA 100Anti-gun Georgia Democrats Introduce ‘Assault Weapon’ Confiscation Bill – On January 11, Democrats in Georgia’s state house introduced a bill that bans “assault weapons” and opens the door for the “seizure” of such weapons, along with accessories like “high capacity” magazines. The bill–HB 731–is sponsored by Mary Margaret Oliver (D-83rd), Stacey Abrams (D-89th), Carolyn Hugley (D-136th), Pat Gardiner (D-57th), Dar’shun Kendrick (D-93rd), Dee Dawkins-Haigler (D-91st). According to the text of HB 731, the bill focuses on ” dangerous instrumentalities and practices” by prohibiting the “possession, sale, transport, distribution, or use of certain assault weapons, large capacity magazines, armor-piercing bullets, and incendiary .50 caliber bullets.” Moreover, the details punishment for crimes involving “the possession, sale, transport, distribution, or use of certain assault weapons, large capacity magazines, armor-piercing bullets, and incendiary .50 caliber bullets.”

Florida Alert! So-called “Florida Gun Rights” Group is Scamming You
Once again email is flooding to Florida gun owners from an entity calling itself “Florida Gun Rights” (FLGR)  asking that gun owners send email to Florida Legislators about a nonexistent bill.  These alerts are not coming from a grassroots group in Florida, their corporate documents clearly show their principal place of business is Colorado.  Once again they are claiming there is a “Backyard Range Ban” bill.  Make no mistake, there is NO SUCH BILL.

Store owner protects business from armed robbers, NBC Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pa. 01/11/16
A group of three armed men entered Ms. Jessie’s Stop N Shop corner store in Philadelphia and attempted to rob the establishment. The store owner responded to the threat by opening fire on the criminals, striking at least one in the head, killing him. The deceased thief’s accomplices fled the scene, but one of them was captured soon after the attempted robbery.
