Fairfax, Va -Legislation aimed at improving safety on college campuses in Georgia, continues to advance through the legislature despite stiff opposition from an out-of-state gun control group funded by New York City billionaire Michael Bloomberg. Today, the Georgia State Senate Judiciary Committee passed House Bill 859  by a 5 to 3 margin and is now headed to a vote on the floor of the Georgia State Senate.

Homeowner shoots home invader in crime-stricken neighborhood, Click2Houston, Houston, Texas 03/01/16
A homeowner in Houston, Texas was alerted to a break-in when a man broke a window near one of his doors in order to gain access to the house. The homeowner retrieved a gun, went to investigate, and came upon the home invader. Responding to the threat, the homeowner shot and killed the intruder. Following the incident, the homeowner’s neighbors said the nearby incident of self-defense was not surprising, as the area has recently been a target for criminals.
