The New Zealand Herald reported that angler Donna Pascoe of Auckland spent four hours reeling in the monster 907-pound, 4-ounce record bluefin off the coast of Houhora, New Zealand. Pascoe was fishing on a charter boat when she caught the record bluefin. The International Fish and Game Association reviewed Pascoe’s catch and determined the fish is in fact a world record bluefin tuna. This wasn’t the first time Pascoe has bagged a monster offshore catch. Last year, she reeled in a 537-pound blue marlin. She’s said she plans to have the fish mounted.
