My 45 years in the industry

Last week I sent an email out to several of the people in the fishing and shooting industry and others who have somehow been a part of my 45 years in the industry.

I felt that my friends, viewers and readers should also be sent this “thank you”, so I have decided on posting it. Some of you have already received it directly, so to you I apologize for subjecting you to it again.

The other day after seeing that Ranger Boats is going to celebrate its 50 Anniversary I started figuring out my years in the outdoor/fishing industry and media. I knew it fell somewhere around 40 or 43. Well in 2018 I will be celebrating my 45th year in the fishing world, and 40th with Dan’s Fish ‘N’ Tales® in the media.

I started in 1973 as a sales rep for Mr. Bass Lures out of Bull Shoals, Arkansas and in 1978 in the media world with the Milan Mirror newspaper and MidWest Outdoors Magazine & Television magazine. Later I got involved with TV, radio, seminars and then videos, plus been published in numerous other publications (newspaper and magazine).

In 2018 I will be celebrating my first anniversary with the sister of Fish ‘N’ Tales®, Shoot ‘N’ Plink™, which is currently published in 3 magazines and a series of videos on the Dan’s Fish ‘N’ Tales® You Tube channel. While the You Tube channel is not named as such it has actually become Dan Galusha Productions.

The ultimate goal was to make it to the Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame, which I felt was more of a dream than something that would really happen. However, thanks to the nomination from Ron Stallings of TTI-Blakemore?Gun Protect, and the support from many others, the dream came true in 2012.

One last goal, which is most likely a definite dream at my age, is to have my TV/Internet show reborn into one that combines the two columns into a single fishing and target shooting program.

I’m sending this information out to all of those with whom I’ve worked, or in someway have touch my life in regards to this career throughout the years, whether for the long haul, or a short time.

In either case I thank you for the support and help, and hopefully we will continue together until I can no longer pick up a fishing rod or shoot. At that point it will be up to God as to what happens.

Thanks again for all that you have done.

Best of Fishing & Plinking,
Dan
