Master wood carver Steve Stortz, winner of several national turkey call carving artist’s awards at the NWTF’s Grand Nationals in Nashville, has announced his line of turtle turkey calls is now going into hand-carved and painted production of signed and numbered pieces in the 300’s. Collectors may contact Steve about obtaining one of his new custom made Box Turtle calls, which produce a deeper and raspier tone for next spring’s turkey hunting challenge.
Stortz is carving slate calls shaped like Painted Turtles, Box turtles, and has also custom made a few calls that resemble a Snapping Turtle.
