Knife Robot Introduction

Knife Robot IntroductionThe Knife Robot, available in two versions; portable and built-in, brings high-tech, auto knife sharpening to the home, workshop, outdoors or professional kitchen.
Finally, a company has taken the guess work out of knife sharpening and eliminated dull and misaligned blades with the patented automatic Knife Robot®, the world’s first no-hands, no-holding, no wasting time knife sharpener. Pre-orders for both versions of the Knife Robert are available at Indiegogo until April 5 for all 2017 orders.
Producing a good, sharp edge on a knife is a must for anyone whose hobby or job requires a sharp and durable blade. From home cooks, hobbyists, outdoorsmen and women and professional chefs, the Knife Robot takes the guess work and the physical work out of knife sharpening. With the hands-off mechanism, the knife is inserted and the Knife Robot does all the work in about 5 minutes.
The Knife Robot has seven motors that sense the knife shape in 4 DoF (degrees of freedom forward, backward, side to side) and with its precision sander it detects the burrs, removing them based on custom input of angle, speed, and pressure. The portable version for home cooks and hobbyists allows you to choose the sander motor speed and the angle (10 to 45 degrees per side). You can also choose a different angle on each side and the amount of pressure (light, medium, hard belt pressure), and watch on the portable’s screen courtesy of a microscopic camera.
A built-in version for professional kitchens (home, caterer, institution and restaurant) takes up minimal counter space with the sharpening kit built within the storage or cupboard area. It features an easy to use start and stop button, provides storage for all of your knives and automatically resharpens them based on usage.
