It was a busy day

It was a busy dayAs always I try to get out fishing on my birthday, so after working on the Shoot ‘N’ Plink™ ground (details on the Shoot ‘N’ Plink™ FB Page), we headed home, unloaded, loaded back up with fishing and camera equipment, and headed to the lake.

A video about using a Plano Weekender and Wrap was shot before fishing.

It was extremely windy, with speeds reaching over 40 mph on gusts. At first I fished with the wind being broken, but knew that is not where the fish would be setting. So, later I moved to the windiest area possible, and “bingo!” the fish were on.

I thought I would be “zeroed out” at first, but once I was in the wind, within a couple of casts I had my first fish.

All the fish were caught on Natural Forage Baits Drop Shad (finger jigged) and Swim Bait (slow constant retrieve), both on BFishn Tackle H20 Precision jig heads.

The best area was between 3 inches from shore to 10 feet out, with most hitting between shore and 3 feet out. That is if you were fishing where the wind was pounding with waves.

As always, Pepper had a lot of fun, and with catching 18 bass and 1 crappie he had a lot to keep him busy. He was actually pooped out and ready to go home before I started picking up.

My “good luck charm” Jim Nordquist said I would catch some nice bass, and, again, it worked.

Until next time, get out on the water, and enjoy a great day of fishing.
