While it has definitely been coming for decades, American citizens have fallen into a such a subservient state that they now constantly ask “am I allowed?” or “is that legal?” We seem to have defaulted to a level where we intrinsically feel that we must seek permission to live our lives and that rather than the citizen tax-payer being the boss, in charge of the nation, some faceless government bureaucracy has assumed authoritarian control.
Are you allowed to own that?
Case in point, I recently secured a Havoc 37mm smoke and flare launcher from Spike’s Tactical. Most will appreciate that the aluminum launcher looks very similar to the M203 grenade launcher in use by the US Military. As an old Marine myself, I know I was pretty excited at the proposition of testing the Havoc launcher out. About fifteen years ago there was a company offering a similar products, but in my estimation those were cheaply built and constructed like toys, not tools.
