H.O.W. – Honoring and Thanking Our Veterans

HOW LogoVeteran’s Day is a day set aside for Americans to express to all veterans and their families our deep appreciation for the sacrifices they make every day to protect our country and our way of life. It also kicks off a month in which we all reflect on what we are thankful for, including our freedoms paid for by the sacrifices of our veterans and their families. Heroes on the Water puts that appreciation into action every day through our unique program.

Many of our returning veterans are suffering the loss of limbs, Post Traumatic Stress, or Traumatic Brain Injury, causing major challenges affecting reintegration into their families and communities, as well as employment and financial difficulties.  Yet over and over again we see, that despite the challenges, these men and women display amazing attitudes and steadfast determination to find their new normal.

Heroes on the Water has proven its effectiveness in helping returning warriors relax, rehabilitate, and reintegrate with their family and community. You are part of the team that makes the Heroes on the Water program possible. Your support of HOW shows that you understand the unique challenges our returning warriors face, and want to do more than just say thank you, you want to do something about it.

Your support doesn’t affect just one person, it has a ripple effect as more and more veterans like Kendall share what they’ve found with others, “Heroes on the Water has calmed the storm within and gives me the opportunity to reach out to my fellow veterans.  I am honored. Truly HONORED.”

Heroes on the Water is extremely proud to be helping our veterans and their families realize a sense of calmness and enjoyment through kayak fishing.  We are committed to making a difference…we hope you will join with us.
