Go Fish for 92015 by Capt. Bill MillerCapt. Billy Miller has been wearing out his charters fishing the deep grass flats using white bait. Big Spanish mackerel to 5 pounds, speckled trout, mangrove snapper, gag grouper, bluefish, ladyfish and jack crevalles are all available there and hungry. Miller likes light spinning tackle for maximum fun.

Hubbard’s Marina reports good redfish action around the islands inside John’s Pass. Anglers fishing the John’s Pass Bridge at night have been tearing up the snook and tarpon using ladyfish for bait.

Hubbard’s 10 hour bottom fishing trips have been catching lots of big red grouper and a few big gags.

Redfish in the Clearwater area have been on a big time chew. Look around the Pope Channel grass flats and islands for the redfish schools. Pinfish and shrimp under a cork has been the best bait.

The ICW spoil islands north of Dunedin continue to hold big speckled trout, sheepshead, mackerel and ladyfish for anglers using live jumbo shrimp. Pompano have also been caught using yellow and pink Crazy jigs.

Capt. William Toney reports good red fishing on the incoming tide around St. Martin’s Keys. Shrimp and pinfish have been the topt live baits. Gold spoons have also been doing well.

MacRaes Bait House says there are still scallops out there and the meat is the biggest of the season.
