Ducks Unlimited - A Love For The Land In Louisiana

Ducks Unlimited has released the latest film in its online series. In “The Bartels,” the Bartels family of Louisiana treat viewers to a southern style duck hunt and a glimpse into what makes their family so special. The Bartels support DU in many ways and have for many years. This premiere film in the 2019 series shows how the next generation of the family continues the tradition.

In this film, family members from Louisiana show how waterfowling, wetland conservation and Ducks Unlimited play a huge role in their lives. Current Louisiana DU State Chairman Nick Lichenstein is part of the Bartels family and is featured in the film.

“This place is pretty special to me,” Nick said about his family’s hunting club in southern Louisiana. “I first hunted ducks here, my kid will hunt his first ducks here, and hopefully his kids will hunt ducks here. As a club, conservation is definitely important for all of us on the side of Ducks Unlimited.”

Ron Bartels is the family patriarch and he makes DU membership a family priority.

“I’ve been involved with Ducks Unlimited for over 35 years now,” he said, adding that he is very happy his children and grandchildren have embraced waterfowl conservation too. “My family has exceeded all my expectations and my hopes and I’m very proud of all of them.”

DU Films is a unique online film series from Ducks Unlimited, the world leader in wetlands and waterfowl conservation. Each film features thrilling hunting footage but also tells a story about waterfowl hunters who are passionate about hunting and giving back to the resource. DU Films presents all of this through breathtaking waterfowl footage and intimate conversations with hunters across North America.

The 2019 season includes six films. DU will release one film per month this spring and summer.
DU Films is produced by Rock Road Creative and sponsored by Mossy Oak, Drake Waterfowl, Winchester Repeating Arms, Winchester Ammunition and Yeti.
