I have had an opportunity to participate in several fishing tournaments this year and have really enjoyed the increased pressure it brings when fishing competitively. I’ve learned many new techniques and even have a set choice of “go-to” lures. I have developed a real confidence when it comes to crank-baits this year, especially fishing in the walleye tournaments. My lure of choice this year is the PK Ridgeline. It is not your typical crank-bait, as its flat spoon bill makes it stand out from any other lure.
My favorite quality of the PK Ridgeline is its loud rattles which creates strong vibrations when retrieved. These built in rattles are extremely noisy and can grab the attention of fish that are distant to the lure. This uniquely shaped lure actually sinks slowly, which is perfect, in order to get down to those walleye. When being retrieved, I like to make sure that it is ticking the bottom along those rocky/sandy bottoms. The flat ridge along the side of the lure makes it look like it is swimming effortlessly.
