Countdown to Catfish Conference 2016 – It’s all about catfish

Catfish Conference 2016 Winter weather doesn’t stop hearty catfish anglers from making a trip to the water and the fish don’t seem to mind. Winter will not stop catfish enthusiasts from flocking to the first of its kind catfish conference. Scheduled for February 27, 2016 in Versailles, KY, the conference will bring catfish interests from all corners of the industry together.

Billed as a “catfish get-together,” attendees will be benefit from catfish seminars, hands on demonstrations of catfishing equipment and viewing the latest, greatest catfish boats. They will also have the opportunity to visit with other anglers, brag about their biggest catches and discuss the future of the sport.

When B’n’M Poles pro staffer Brian Barton talks about catfish he always mentions the need for gaining respect. “Many anglers don’t pursue catfish because they’re slimy and messy,” admonished Barton. “Some people even consider them a trash fish. The truth is, catfish provide a respectable battle when hooked on rod and reel and they are easy to catch. That ease of catching helps build angler confidence in their own fishing skills and brings them back to the water. Maybe best of all, the smaller fish (up to about 10 pounds) provide excellent table fare. I sometimes view Mr. Whiskers like Rodney Dangerfield used to say, ‘I just can’t get no respect.'”

Catfish Conference 2016 will be a huge step towards giving catfishing its much-deserved respect as one of the fastest growing sports in the nation. Pro anglers, boat manufacturers, equipment manufactures, tournament trail directors, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Ohio Department of Fish and Wildlife will be on hand to answer angler questions and promote the industry.
