Clam Outdoors™ Partners With Outdoor News, Inc. To Honor Outstanding Youth and Youth Organizations

Clam Corp LogoOutdoor News, Inc., publisher of locally written fishing and hunting outdoor newspapers in seven Great Lake states, together with Clam Outdoors, announces a program to recognize youth who are excelling in outdoor recreational sports. The effort will focus on outdoor activities that anglers, hunters and sporting enthusiasts in Minnesota value, and it will also commend and reward affiliated youth organizations.

The “Outdoor Youth of the Month” partnership encourages the public to nominate students in grades 7-12 who have demonstrated leadership or excellence in the outdoor pursuits including: habitat restoration efforts, archery, the shooting sports, or mentored fishing and hunting programs. Outdoor News and Clam will select and profile one youth each month in Minnesota Outdoor News and award a prize package including a subscription to Outdoor News, a $250 cash award, and $250 in merchandise from Clam Outdoors. In addition to highlighting the achievements of the individual youth, the Outdoor Youth of the Month program will also recognize the established club or organization that supports the development of the youth’s outdoor passion.

Nick Chiodo, marketing director for Clam Outdoors, expressed the importance of recognizing youth that are actively living the outdoor lifestyle. “By bringing attention to the kids and the organizations that are doing good things, Clam Outdoors feels this will only help preserve and enhance our outdoor heritage.  There are a lot of incredible stories out there and we want to highlight and celebrate those kids that are bringing it, in the outdoors.  Having an award program in place should inspire others to get involved and take it to the next level.  We are extremely excited to partner with Outdoor News to bring much-needed attention to kids in the outdoors.” he said.
