Big Rock Sports Donates Over $70,000 To YSSA

Youth Shooting Sports Alliance logoBig Rock Sports donated more than $60,000 worth of merchandise to the Youth Shooting Sports Alliance (YSSA) at the end of 2013, and followed that up with a silent auction at the Big Rock Sports West Dealer Show in January that brought in an additional $10,500 for the youth organization. Exhibiting shooting sports vendors made donations to the auction.

“We are very supportive of YSSA’s efforts to grow the next generation of shooters and hunters,” said Gary Zurn, Senior Vice President, Industry Relations for Big Rock Sports.

The goal of the YSSA is to introduce young people to shooting as well as ensure that shooting and hunting traditions are sustained. The non-profit group helps facilitate firearms training through organizations such as the Boy Scouts of America, the Royal Rangers and 4-H clubs.

Proceeds from the sale of the merchandise will help generate the funds needed to purchase equipment and supplies in support of YSSA-selected priority youth shooting sports programs.

“This generous donation included turkey calls of all makes and models as well as tactical shooting accessories and firearms cleaning equipment,” said Steve Miller, Executive Director of the YSSA.

“The donation of these items, in addition to the silent auction, represent ways that Big Rock Sports supports gun rights and the shooting sports industry,” Zurn added.
