The Sako 85 Bavarian Carbine offers features typically unique to Sako such as: action sizes matched to cartridges; mechanical ejection and integral tapered scope mount dovetails. Additionally there is a controlled round feed on all models to ensure reliable cartridge feed to the chamber on all situations (Pat.pend.). The full length mannlicher carbine style stock is oil finished walnut and features and extended recoil lug secured to the fore-end. The Sako 85 Carbine is equipped with windage and elevation adjustable open sights. The post with bead front sight is mounted on a streamlined sight ramp without sight hood. The forged one piece bolt with three locking lugs offers fast, smooth cycling with controlled round feed and mechanical case ejection.
