Bass Fishing Tournament Director Arrested – Big Bass Mania Director in custody. Michael McCloud Jr., founder and tournament director of Big Bass Mania, turned himself in to authorities, based on an active warrant, on Tuesday, Sept. 3.According to Ellis Powell, game warden with the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department, “a sealed indictment was handed down by a Jasper County grand jury earlier this year.”
McCloud agreed to turn himself in to authorities Tuesday evening following “lengthy attempts to locate him, involving several other state agencies,” Powell stated.
An extensive investigation was launched on the Big Bass Mania tournament held June 8-10, 2012, on Lake Sam Rayburn, after receiving numerous complaints regarding the proceedings.
McCloud is currently being held in the Jasper County Jail, in Jasper, Texas, where he awaits arraignment.
