A Strange Day Fishing

A Strange Day FishingFishing today was a bit strange, but ended up not all that bad. At first I was using a black/blue Blitz Lures LLC Spyder Jig with a Natural Forage Baits Mad Craw. I was getting a lot of hits, but they were short strikes and ripping off the legs. Because of that I was getting down to my last few Mad Craws and decided to switch to the “weighted” Blitz Finesse Jig with an Auger Frog. I caught a bass, but that was about it.

A Rat-L-Trap caught a couple more, and a finger jigged 2″ Power Minnow caught another, but the Spyder Jig with Mad Craw still seemed the way to go.

After moving to an area with a wood structure in the middle that had a weed bed on the shallow side I decided to risk my last NFB Mad Craws. It paid off with a few more fish before Pepper and I packed up for the day. We ended up with a total of 10 bass during a 2 1/2 hour trip, on what first seem to be one of those days when just one fish would be good.

Until next time, get out on the water, and enjoy a great day of fishing.
