A Little Gun Rap From Dan – Part 30 (Multi Post)

I picked up my American Tactical/GSG Firefly the other day from B&B Hardware in Milan, IL. This is the green model, and is supposed to be slightly improved with springs. I have an inquiry to people at the company to find out exactly what changes were made so I can pass them along to my audiences.

I really like this gun, and think it is a great 22LR semi-auto pistol. It is actually a Sig Mosquito, but has come on to its own with the name of Firefly.

There will be some test firing, and without a doubt, video or videos.

While this is what is called a T&E Program gun, I think I’ll keep this one, especially if it shoots as good as it may. I say that because of my sighting with my LaserLyte unit, which works on pistols as well as rifles from 22 to 50 cal. From what I can see this is deadon without having to change the sights in anyway.

There are 3 front sight blades that come with the gun, but it is best to stay with the one mounted, which is the medium. Otherwise there is a 7.5″ change, up or down, depending on the use of the short or tall, and that is a lot.

When asked for color I told ATI that I wanted black, but if that wasn’t available I would go with green. It is a very good OD green, and I like it for having a different gun. My Browning is a grey, and S&W is silver, so a nice change to the green.

Speaking of the S&W 9mm, I also tried the Laserlyte unit on it, and found that I have to tilt my front sight down a bit further than I had been doing, so will see now that shoots when firing some CCI Blazer 124 gr and Remington Arms Company 115 gr ammo that is on the way from Sportsman’s Guide. This will be compared to the Wolf Performance Ammunition, Arms and Optics product in 115 gr and steel casing that has already been fired.

Until next time, shoot safe, and have a great day of plinking.

MORE GUN RAP FROM DAN!

Here is the video about my new Smith and Wesson SD9 VE 9mm pistol that I used with Wolf Performance Ammunition, Arms and Optics, and shot at paper and Do-All Outdoors Biofusion targets. This is not a T&E gun, but one that I purchased on sale from Sportsman’s Guide.

I used my Browning 1911-22 to shoot a set of Do-All Outdoors Blast Back targets. I may film another video using my Henry Repeating Arms Frontier Long Barrel on the longer range.

Fed Ex delivered two American Tactical airguns – a Nova Freedom and an AT-97 Elite Sniper Rifle. The Freedom is a PCP with a built-in pump that has an adjustment for two velocities.

The AT-97 is a break barrel and has a scope, folding bipod, adjustable butt stock, and Picatinny rails.

Both of these guns are 177, which are great for plinking and accuracy. They are available in 22.

Of course, polymer stocks are the thing, which is with about every gun these days – air or powder.

On Friday I’ll be picking up a American Tactical Firefly at B&B Hardware in Milan, IL with the new spring set up. As you may remember it is one of my favorites, right along side my Browning 1911-22, although different in size and design.

Stay tuned for more information and videos on all of these guns.

Until next time, shoot safe, and have a great day of plinking.

The official Shoot ‘N’ Plink™ sign was assembled in place at the new shooting range property. It was a “ten hand” job, that I managed to do with 2.
