A Little Gun Rap From Dan – Part 11

Two plinking pieces to get you ready for more target shooting. For years E-Z Livin’ Inc. in Milan, IL has been known for fishing tackle and archery equipment. Now, with the new owner, Todd Carnes, the store is going into firearms and airguns.

There are some of the top names in the shooting industry, such as Browning, Glock and Ruger in the powder burners, and Gamo Outdoor USA in airguns. He will also be having a few Henry Repeating Arms products via another area gun dealer.

Hopefully I’ll be able to convince Todd to carry Gun Protect by Red Eagle Technologies, Heritage Firearms Rough Riders, Umarex USA, Inc. airguns and some of the American Tactical/German Sports Guns models, of which I know many are interested in the Firefly, which is the take-off of the SIG Mosquito.

Of course along with the guns comes ammo sales.

Don’t forget that ice season is coming up quickly, so you may want to check out some of his tackle. He is a Custom Jigs & Spins dealer, so be sure to check out some of my favorites in that line.

You may be greeted by furry friend as well.

So if you are in the Quad City area, or need some other shooting, archery/bow setup or fishing questions answered, stop in and talk to the folks at EZ Livin Sports Center located at 231 1st Ave W, Milan, IL, or give them a call at 309-787-2244.

Until next time, shoot safe and have a great day of plinking; or get out on the water, and have a great day of fishing.

Before the Holidays I received a set of Dovetail to Picatanny adaptors, Red Dot sight and Howard Leight electronic ear protection. These were all found at a good deal on the Amazon site, so decided to get them for something to try.

The adaptors worked great for mounting my 3-9×40 scope on the Henry Repeating Arms Frontier Long Barrel.

The red dot, which I mounted on my Ruger 10/22 was actually a red/green dot, so for the amount I ordered a couple of more. Hopefully it wasn’t a mistake, and that I’ll get a couple more red/green dot units. Also, the mount on this sight is reversible so that it will fit on a dovetail for a 22 or airgun, and a Weaver style. That is a very handy feature, so I’ll be installing one on my Umarex USA, Inc. NXG, which should be a lot of fun to try.

As for the electronic headphones, I can really pick up sounds around me, and just to make a quick try on the suppression factor I fired the Gamo Outdoor USA Swarm a few times, and it was definitely quieter. So, I imagine it will do a great job on a regular powder burner, while letting normal sound such as conversation filter through nicely.

Now I’ll have something to try the new laser boresight that I have coming. It is a LaserLyte brand. I’ve never used one of their products, but hear they make some good items. We will see. I haven’t used one yet that I’ve truly found to work to peak satisfaction. I got it on a better deal through Amazon as well, with free shipping. A representative of LaserLyte says that they will stand behind their product 100%, so I’m hoping it is what I’ve been looking for.

There will be more reports on all of these items, and most likely some videos.
