A Little Gun Rap From Dan – Part 1

This photo shows the damage that a .177 pellet can cause being fired from a Gamo Swarm at 15 yards. The post was behind 8 layers of double layer cardboard.

It proves how important that it is to have a good backstop on anything being fired. Behind the post I had several layers of different material, a solid foam board, 1″ plywood in a V to funnel shots inward, and 2 layers of bricks behind that. You may think that is overkill, but I would rather have overkill rather than a real kill, serious injury or property damage.

I ordered a Tactical Solutions’ compensator from Sportsman’s Guide for my Henry Repeating Arms Frontier Long Barrel in the threaded model. Being in Illinois I can’t have a suppressor, so wanted to try something for a review and some video ideas. Thinking about the different comments as to if a compensator makes a 22 more accurate or not, I thought that would make a good piece for Shoot ‘N’ Plink™ in the magazine and video.

It will be fun seeing what it will do.

Today I received a Buck Mark Reflex sight for my Browning Buck Mark Practical. I’m anxious to give this a try, so stay tuned for the Shoot ‘N’ Plink review, article and video.

Until next time, shoot safe and have a great day of plinking.
