The newest product in crankbaits Bill Lewis Outdoors’ MR-6. Bill Lewis is the manufacturer of the famous Rat-L-Trap. According to Richard Broadwell the MR-6 will is a medium runner that will bottom out at 6 feet, and have a slow upward wobble when at pause. This will be perfect for the rip and pause retrieve that I like to use. Virgil Ward got me hooked on that retrieve when I fished with him in the 80’s on Table Rock and Bull Shoals.
Richard said that the weight transfer system in the lure will make it cast long and in windy conditions. That is perfect, as crankbait fishing is normally fairly good in the wind, and I fish a lot of those conditions.
