2015 Shot Show Auction Knife Announced

2015 Shot Show Auction Knife AnnouncedNo knife maker has created more one-of-a-kind knives for the SHOT Show auction than South Carolina custom knife maker, Ross Tyser has, and a special Tyser original has been selected as the 2015 SHOT Show knife. “It’s privilege to be selected to create a custom knife for the SHOT Show auction but I have to admit it’s also fun,” commented Ross Tyser when discussing the 2015 SHOT Show knife. “There are so many options and so many possibilities including hunting knife, tactical knife or a special purpose knife. And once we have zeroed-in on the application, we discuss materials for the blade and handle and sheath and display case. And after that, comes engraving theme. It is truly fun to discuss the options and then execute them.”

For 2015, Tyser and SHOT Show auction organizers selected a Bull Elk-themed Bowie knife. “The Bull elk is without doubt one of our most majestic big game animals and we selected a large Bowie pattern to carry the Bull Elk theme. “The Bull elk is without doubt one of our most majestic big game animals and we selected a large Bowie pattern to carry the Bull Elk theme”, commented Tyser. The Bowie features an 8-inch Damascus Bowie blade made of 1084 and 15n20 Damascus, with a total length of 14 inches from blade tip to handle butt. The guard is hand textured Bronze followed by a Damascus Ferrule. The handle is Sambar Stag capped with a hand-textured Bronze butt cap with an applied hand-carved solid Pewter Bugling Bull Elk.

The knife will be displayed on a hand-finished Axis-deer antler in a custom-designed display case.
