Action Trackchair for David

Action Trackchair for DavidIts been a sad day today. Molly our black lab walked to the door to go outside with David for the last time earlier this morning. She will be missed. She would loved to have seen David get his trackchair. First I have to tell you all it is very hard for me to share this and ask for help but here goes…. Link To The Benefit Page.

David first started having symptoms in July of 2005.  He was having issues with his right arm and hand.  After a few doctor appointments it was clear we needed to get things in order.  By October 31, 2005 David had been to the ER 3 times and was finally admitted.  It was then that they confirmed he had Multiple Sclerosis.  While that itself is a major setback it was within the next week we realized just how big of a setback that was going to be.  By November 7, 2005 David wasn’t walking, talking, eating, seeing, controlling his bladder or bowels, or moving his left arm.  I transferred him from Champaign, IL to St. Louis where he underwent plasmapherisis, multiple MRI’s, catscans, EKG’s, spinal taps, and even a brain biopsy.  They couldn’t tell me and still can’t tell me to this day why his case of MS took a turn as harsh as it did.

Action Trackchair for David 2

That was 9 long years ago and David has regained so much.  While he still can’t walk he has learned to enjoy life once again.  Things are different by every means but its enjoyable.  He joined the IL Wheelin Sportsmens outreach program of the NWTF and I took over as the coordinator.  It is there we found out about the Action Trackchair.  David actually had the opportunity to borrow one back in 2012 to go on a turkey hunt.  This chair allowed him the freedom to manuever thru the woods and enjoy the outdoors in a way no other chair can do.  While that was 2 years ago he has not stopped talking about it.  Please help me help him enjoy the freedom he deserves.
