The New VMC Spin Jig For Suspending & Schooling Bass

Rig a VMC® Spin Jig with your favorite boot-tail or fluke-style soft-plastic trailer and suspending fish don’t stand a chance, no matter the season.

An exaggerated belly keel and premium ball bearing swivel maximizes the new Spin Jig’s swim-and-spin action. A double-wire keeper holds your soft-plastic trailer in place. The jig’s high-carbon-steel, fine-wire or 1X strong hooks features a forged shank and needle point.

The New VMC Spin Jig For Suspending & Schooling Bass 2

A Spin Jig rigged with a soft-plastic trailer is perfect for targeting shallow suspending and schooling bass in clear to moderately stained water. Throw it past the school, count it down to depth and then swim it through the school. It works well in all seasons. In colder water, slow-roll it with a mostly steady retrieve. In warmer water add occasional pauses and jerks to your retrieve.

Another application is to swim a Spin Jig rig over a submerged cover and structure likely to hold fish – brush piles, sunken trees and rock piles. Cast well past the target and reel just over the top of it. Don’t collide with the cover like you would with a crankbait, as you’re likely to hang up. Rather, retrieve it just over the structure’s top. In clear to moderate water, a Spin Jig rig’s action will draw bass up and away from the cover.

Pro Tip: Resist the urge to set the hook too aggressively when fishing a VMC Spin Jig. Rather, just keep reeling and let your rod load up and keep on the pressure.

The VMC Spin Jig is available in five color patterns: Blue Back Herring, Chartreuse Shad, Shad, Threadfin Shad and White. It comes in six sizes, Fine Wire sizes: 1/4-ounce, 3/8-ounce (with 3/0 hooks), 1/2-ounce (4/0 hook), 1X Strong Sizes: 5/8-ounce, 3/4-ounce (5/0 hooks) and 1-ounce (6/0 hook).
