WORLD FISHING JOURNAL RETURNS THIS SUNDAY

NEW WFN LogoWorld Fishing Network, the leading entertainment destination and digital resource for anglers throughout North America, premieres the third installment of the second season of its signature magazine format show, World Fishing Journal, with another all-star episode on Sunday, Nov. 2 starting at 11:30 a.m. ET.

World Fishing Journal brings together a roster of talented sports producers to craft engaging, story-driven features based around the angling community and fishing industry on a monthly basis. Sunday’s three segments include:

Orvis Guide Rendezvous : Each year, Orvis hosts a special event in Missoula, Mont. known as the Orvis Guide Rendezvous. The Orvis Guide Rendezvous is open to all guides – not just those endorsed by Orvis – and features seminars, special presentations, competitive events and workshops designed to help professional fly fishing guides. This year’s event marked the 28th that Orvis has assembled and saw more than 600 fly fishing guides in attendance. Noted author, educator and television host, Tom Rosenbauer, takes viewers on an in-depth tour of the event as we learn why the Orvis Guide Rendezvous has become so popular. World Fishing Journal also has a ticket to the Orvis Fly Fishing Film Festival, better known as Down the Hatch, hosted by celebrity comedian, Hank Patterson.
The Next Generation Female Angler: Meet Heather Reid and Marianne Huskey. Heather Reid is the founder of the Great Canadian Female Angler (GCFA), a concept where ‘ladies’ both young and old could connect with one another across Canada to share what fishing means to female anglers. Marianne Huskey is one of a handful of female professional anglers, competing against men on a regular basis. A true role model for aspiring female anglers, Marianne has competed in every AIM Pro Walleye Series Tournament and multiple MWS and FLW Walleye Tournaments since 2009.
Cast One for Recovery: As breast cancer awareness took center stage in October, World Fishing Network’s Mariko Izumi hit the Bitterroot River in Montana to fish in Casting for Recovery’s Second Annual Cast One for Hope fundraising event. The mission of Casting for Recovery is to enhance the quality of life of women with breast cancer through a unique program that combines breast cancer education and peer support with the therapeutic sport of fly fishing. Free retreats offer opportunities for women to find inspiration, discover renewed energy for life and experience healing connections with other women and nature
