Striper Boats Launches New 20-Foot Dual Console

Striper Boats Launches New 20-Foot Dual ConsoleWith the recent success of the Striper 200 CC and just released Striper 200 WA, Striper does it again with the introduction and launch of the 200 Dual Console (DC). “The growth of the 20-foot outboard fishing market segment along with the growth of the cross over dual console product, we are in a strong position

to capture the families and fishermen that want to fish or play,” said Ron Sahr, Larson Boat Group Director of Engineering.

Sitting still at the dock or on the standard galvanized trailer, the 200 DC looks like it is ready to hunt it’s prey. As with the other Striper 200 series models, the 200 DC’s stance, attitude, and presence is impressive. As you approach the boat, one of the first things you notice is the aggressive sheer line. This provides the boat with a big footprint in the water for a very dry ride. Moving mid-ship toward the stern from the sweeping bow flair, the sheer line straightens out to give the 200 DC big fishability and noticeable personality. The aggressive sheer line and hull shape creates impressive cockpit freeboard for security and the required leverage when leaning against the cockpit side when fighting the big one.

The 200 DC is built with Striper’s one-piece Fibercore™ hand-laid composite stringer system construction, providing the owner and passengers with a solid boat with added support and reduced vibration. The 200DC hull employs the V-Trac™ hull design for maximum steering control. The 200 DC uses a very large 6-inch chine area for improved handling, stability and control when you are in search of that perfect fishing spot.

With power options from Mercury, Evinrude, Suzuki, Honda or Yamaha, the Striper 200 DC is sure to put you on the fish in no time or when family time, pull a tube, create a wake for wakeboarding or just take you to that perfect spot to have fun with family and friends on a sandbar, in a cove or floating along with the current. Engine options range from 115 to 200 horsepower, providing the owner with enough engine power to get you to where you want to be fast and safely. An industry-leading 91-gallon fuel capacity for a 20-foot dual console ensures huge range to cover when fishing or just a day at play on the water.

“The 200 DC is that perfect combination of utility, for full throttle fishing action, but can show her softer side when called on as the perfect platform for play,” offered Rob Parmentier, Larson Boat Group President and CEO. Parmentier went on to say, “The 200 DC is the perfect boat for those who want their cake and eat it too – fishing time and play time.”

A large helm and console serves as central command for this 20-foot model. The large console command station has room for up to two 10-inch graphs and includes a stainless-steel steering wheel with turning knob and a large compass easily points you in the right direction and aids you with where you want to – fish or play is then the question of the moment that needs to be answered. The driver and passenger high-back recliner seats with adjustable pedestal are a great platform to watch the horizon line, relax, to play look out from or when called on to the spotter when a tuber is being pulled by the boat.

Whether fishing or playing all day, storage and access to a day-head are valued accessories. The passenger console serves as double duty, with a built-in glove box but as a lockable door for a day head. With a large, built in step the area is easily accessible and creates a large stowage area to accommodate plenty of gear or when called on, a head when the optional porta-potti with deck pump-out is installed. Add the optional fresh water galley to complete the head system for that full day of adventure while out on the water. Not only can the day-head area be used for storage, the driver’s console includes a large open area for gear or a cooler whereas this door doubles as a wind door. More storage is found under the hinged bow seating cushions or in the large in-floor storage, with gas assist shock lid.

To protect you from the sun, an optional fiberglass hard top with rocket launchers or bimini top are available for the Striper 200 DC.

Ready. Set. Fish!
When the 200 DC is called on to be the fishing beast that it is, the boat does not shy away from this duty. With the transom starboard jump seat removed, you are now closer to the fish-fighting action ready to reel in the one that you have been searching for. A standard 16-gallon baitwell station, to port, with built-in cutting-board lid provides you with ample accommodations for enough bait for a day of fishing. Just in front of this baitwell station is an additional jump seat. Transom optional equipment includes a bait prep table or center transom flip-up seat with backrest, and fresh water washdown.

There are two large, 12-gallon macerator fish boxes found port and starboard in the cockpit floor, maximizing space not normally found in a 20-foot walk-around. The fish boxes are prepped and ready after you catch your fish using the integrated toe keepers and padded side rails.

Built-in gunnel port and starboard rod storage keeps your equipment ready for use and out of the way while running to your next fishing hole. Whether boarding the boat at the dock or after swimming or diving, the standard folding 3-positon ladder and walkthrough transom gate make boarding the 200 DC easy and safe.

A Day of Play
If you are considering using the Striper 200 DC for a day of play, look no further. The large bow area is a great place to sit for a run to your favorite cove, sand bar, or just for a relaxing sunset cruise. Add the optional bow filler cushion to create a large sunpad or the optional bow table to entertain family, friends and all comers for food or a place to play games or cards. An optional extended swim platform is a great jumping off point for kids or adults to float around or play.

Whether a successful full day of fishing with the fish boxes full or if everyone onboard is tired from a full day of play or lucky to say both, the standard galvanized trailer is ready to carry your boat home.

“Our goal in designing the new 200 DC, like our other models in this 200 Striper family was to build a 20-foot boat that felt bigger than what its specifications state and well equipped for whatever adventure or activity you threw at it – be it open ocean or inland lakes.” concluded Sahr.
