On Election Day, Protect Maine’s Hunting Heritage

NSSF 100On Nov. 4, Maine voters will have the opportunity to stand up to anti-hunting extremists, such as the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), by voting NO on Question #1, Maine’s Bear Hunting Referendum.  Recently, the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife (IF&W), the agency directly responsible for the conservation of Maine’s wildlife, publicly announced its opposition to Question #1. In this recent release by the IF&W, they made it clear that if Question #1 passes, their ability to control Maine’s high bear population will be devastated and that this will lead to an increase in nuisance bear complaints and cause a threat to public safety.

Maine has one of the largest bear populations in the United States and it has achieved such numbers with proper wildlife management tools, which include those methods that would be banned by Question #1. If ratified by voters, Question #1 could be the beginning of the destruction of our rich hunting heritage. Question #1 support is currently being bankrolled by HSUS, an anti-hunting organization tied to many bans on different types of hunting throughout the country.

Will you take the word of our trusted professional wildlife officials in Maine, or from an organization looking to ban all hunting worldwide?

Ensure Maine’s rich hunting heritage lives on for future generations-vote NO on Question 1.
