Maitland-Designed Compound Models

Tribe ArcheryTribe Archery has purchased the technology that made Maitland Bows a standout in the compound bow market and will begin production on two of the Maitland-designed bows this summer, the company has announced. Tribe Archery has established an edge in the trad market as the maker of superior traditional bows for youth and adults. The purchase of Maitland technology will expand Tribe Archery’s presence into the compound market.

“Maitland has a reputation for excellence in engineering and performance, and with good reason; these are excellent bows,” said Heath Painter, founder of Tribe Archery. “This summer, we’ll start production of that same high-quality technology under the Tribe Archery name. It’s the ideal pairing of cutting-edge engineering with our commitment to deliver a superior experience to bowhunters and archery enthusiasts around the world.”

Tribe purchased the designs for all five Maitland bows, but will phase in production to ensure the highest level of quality in both product and customer service. All parts will continue to be manufactured in the United States. The company expects to begin production of the hunting bows (the Kinetic and the Halo Extreme) by late summer. Competitive shooting bow production will begin at a later date, to be announced.

“We are committed to making sure we produce the highest quality bows that will be ready for the field and the shooting lines,” Painter said. “We will actively pursue aggressive grass roots marketing strategies and promote a Pro-Staff competition on social media sites with high visibility.”

More information will be released on these programs closer to the launch date, Painter said.

Painter added that the company does not intend to make any changes in design or production with the initial run of bows. “We are always looking at fine tuning and improving on the design of our products,” Painter said. “But given the superior performance of these bows, we don’t intend to make any changes out of the gate.”

That also means replacement parts will be available for existing bows that were sold under the Maitland name.

One thing that definitely won’t change is the Maitland mindset for thinking outside the box, Painter said. “It is only by designing, thinking and playing outside of the box that we can live up to our commitment to deliver the best products on the market to our customers.”

The new compound bows will join Tribe Archery’s wildly successful Game Hunter series of youth bows and the recently released Halo ILF riser. Like all Tribe Archery products, the compounds will be carried by national retailers, small distributors and industry-renowned catalog companies.
