Hack Attack Claims Second Victory of Season

Bass Rankings LogoAnthony Gagliardi may be the No. 1-ranked angler in the past year, but you could easily make a case for Greg Hackney.  In fact, we’ll help you do it. Hackney’s win over the weekend at the Elite Series event at Cayuga was his second of the season (one on each circuit) and sixth top 10 of 2014 (most of any angler). Yet, despite those numbers he’s No. 11 in the one-year ranking. Why? His 138th-place finish at the FLW Tour Kentucky Lake event in June is the biggest culprit. Without that event, Hackney’s one-year average jumps from 751.856 to 798.223. That would be good enough for No. 4, and that average still includes a 96th at the FLW Tour Beaver Lake event.
