The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has awarded Seth McGinn a patent for the CanCooker-the portable convection oven that steam-cooks a complete meal in an hour. The U.S. patent number is 8,747,933. After testing, the USPTO determined the CanCooker is so unique in its design and cooking ability that a patent was awarded. The CanCooker allows a combination of foods to be placed inside the main body of the cooker, along with any liquid, spices and seasonings. Securing the handled lid and then placing the CanCooker on a heat source steam cooks the food inside by convection and a slight pressure increase, resulting in minimal flavor mixing such that food retains its original colors, flavors, vitamins, textures, and nutrients. After cooking, a carrot looks and tastes like a carrot, even if cooked with distinctly different foods. It is the simplest, healthiest and most convenient cooking system available.
